Things we did today:
*Took our time leaving
*Drove to the east coast, to Point Udall. Checked out the sundial. Easternmost part of the U.S.
Saw 2 mongoose along the way!
There's Buck Island in the distance- the island we had snorkeled at earlier in the week.
*Had lunch at the Buccaneer Resort(booked a day room here for later this week)
*Toured Fort Christianvaern, which was beautiful (yet creepy with the historical aspect- pretty sure there was lots of slave labor involved here). Only paid $6 total to tour this place, which was great.
In the "black hole" dungeon:
*Swam in the pool- boys played pool dodge ball with Mark; had the pool to themselves.
*Watched a beautiful iguana climb a tree behind my chair at the pool
*Dinner with live music by the ocean/pool area. The musician kept teasing Cam, in a fun way. :)
Creatures/Animals we've seen so far on this trip:
-mongoose
-iguanas(we're probably up to 10 sightings so far)
-geckos(they're everywhere and are so cute, and fast)
-hermit crabs in their shells
-soldier crab by our patio- blue-ish and with huge claws
-fruit bats here by the patio at dusk
-black hummingbird by the pool on the flowers- don't know the actual name of the type yet, but it's all black with a cool tuft on its head
-pelicans galore
-comerants/other shore birds
-little crabs that scurry in and out of sand holes
-octopus/eel/ray/squid/blue tang/urchins/fish/coral/anemones, etc.
-wild chickens/roosters/chicks all over the island
-a donkey by the side of the road- random!
-horses
-2 deer (while on the ATVs)
-butterflies
PS: the game is on in our room right now, even though the guys don't care about it too much. :)
