2/3/14
*Sandy Point, part deux. Because the cruise ships have been docked this past weekend as well as Monday and Tuesday, this beach is going to be open the extra 2 days. Typically, it is closed other than weekends from 10-4, as to keep it a quieter refuge for wildlife. A local told us it would be open again, so we had to make another stop there! We were the first to arrive, and had the beach to ourselves and one other couple for at least an hour, before a few other groups trickled in.
*Walked around Friedrikstead among the cruise ship tourists. Vendors were out selling their wares, so we did a bit of shopping as well. Elijah bought a calabash maraca with his name burned into it by the vendor (awesome)! I bought myself, and a couple of buds, earrings that were also made out of calabash shells.
*Pool for boys after, while Mark and I sat poolside with yummy drinks.
*Cleaned up for relaxing and Caribbean Night at the hotel for dinner- been looking forward to it!
*Just saw the craziest thing ever. A guy had his horse in the ocean. As in, OVER the horse's head! Swimming in deep water, with waves crashing over them as they swam! Woah!
That dark spot in the middle is a horse's head and it's rider on it's back as the horse swam:
Watching the craziness from the beach:
The horse swam in with the owner on his back:
Weird!
