Friday Craziness and Saturday Bliss

Written 2/1/14

Yesterday was crazy- scariest thing ever!  ATV tour through the tropical forest, near Friedrikstead, across from Rainbow Beach.
*Jamal (guide) drove Elijah
*I drove Logan
*Mark drove Cam
*Bike helmets! Only bike helmets. On crazy, narrow, 2-way auto roads! As we drove at least 30mph! Super dangerous. Tippy parts on the actual trail, too...thought I was going to dump my heavy machine.  Scariest thing I've ever experienced- was afraid we'd be hurt.
*View at the top was awesome.
*old sugar plantation ruins were beautiful.
*Rainbow Beach for lunch was pretty.
*I was covered in mud at the end of the 2 hour ride- my favorite part.  :)
*crazy sore muscles after- took a lot of upper body strength to drive those machines!

Today(2/1) was my favorite day.  We've all been sleeping so well!  Slept until 7-ish and I went out and saw a rainbow.  It was both raining and sunny.  Before we left for the day the boys told us there was another rainbow-over the water.  So pretty!

Sandy Point Nature/Wildlife Preserve (a turtle hatching beach).  AMAZING.  No, really.  The softest sand ever felt.  The most turquoise water ever seen.  The most buoyant water-Mark said he could have fallen asleep floating on his back.  I tried it and agreed- so crazy!  Could float so easily!

There was a cruise ship docked in the distance.  Birds sang in the greenery.  Crabs darted in and out of tiny holes in the sand.  The sun was warm, not hot, and the gentle breeze was perfect.  Didn't sweat one bit- just clear water, clean, soft sand...heaven on earth.

We rested/showered/napped and then went back out to Christianstead for the pier (so pretty), and ate outside at a cool place called, "You Are Here."  Had pizza/wings.

Daiquiris by the pool so Logan, our fish,  could swim tonight.  Amazing day.  Thank You, Lord.
